Jamestown Auxiliary milestone achievement
14 Jul 2010
Helping Hand Aged Care’s Jamestown Auxiliary has fundraised and donated over $100,000 for the Helping Hand Aged Care Belalie Lodge residential care facility.
Since the formation of the incorporated Auxiliary in 2005, this dedicated group of volunteers has donated their time to raise public awareness and funds. Assisted by the generosity of the local community, the Jamestown Auxiliary has been able to reach this milestone through fundraising initiatives, including the operation of the local sale yard canteen.
“We are able to do so much more for the residents with the fantastic support we receive from the Auxiliary” says Heather Grindell, Care Manager at Belalie Lodge.
“Their donations have enabled Belalie Lodge to purchase items such as electric beds, multi lifters, televisions and a sound system, all of which enrich the quality of life of the residents” she said.
“Many of the members of today’s Auxiliary have strong ties and history with Belalie Lodge and it is fantastic to see this relationship continue and grow over the years. We look forward to many more years working together in the community” says Heather.
