About us

Accreditation

The Aged Care Act 1997, requires approved providers of residential aged care homes to comply with the Accreditation Standards. The Accreditation Standards comprise of four standards and 44 expected outcomes and are intended to provide a structured approach to the management of quality and represent clear statements of expected performance. The Accreditation Standards apply equally for the benefit of each resident of a residential care service.

It is the responsibility of providers to demonstrate their compliance with the Accreditation Standards.

Helping Hand Aged Care applications for accreditation are assessed through desk audits and site audits which are conducted by the Aged Care Standards and Accreditation Agency.

Monitoring of all our Residential Sites also occurs through support contact visits, review audits, unannounced visits by the Accreditation Agency.

It is very pleasing to report that, as at 30 June 2009, all Helping Hand residential sites have been assessed as meeting all 44 required outcomes.
