Dietitians Day 2020


Friday 18 September 2020 is Dietitians Day in Australia, designed to celebrate the work of dietitians and their positive impact on health and nutrition.

Helping Hand was the first South Australian aged care provider to directly employ dietitians as part of their allied health teams. This decision in 2010 has led to strengthened and holistic service delivery for residents in our care homes and home care clients.

Helping Hand dietitians work together with our nursing and food service teams to support our residents enjoy nutritious, tasty meals and encourage relishing those treats too! They help make cooking and eating well at home enjoyable and have lots of tips to keep meals interesting and delicious.

Helping Hand holds a Wellness Toolkit program. This is a four week program with our Allied Health specialists who will provide tips and practical strategies designed to boost strength and vitality for a healthy, active and engaged lifestyle. There are no out-of-pocket charges to attend and refreshments will be provided. All we ask is that you contact My Aged Care (Tel: 1800 200 422) and request a referral code for Allied Health at Helping Hand Aged Care. Then call us on 1300 444 663, we will book you in and organise the rest.

Where: Parafield Gardens Recreation Centre, corner of Kings Road and Martins Road, Parafield Gardens.

When: 10:30 am to 12:00 pm for four weeks, starting Monday 26 October 2020
