Edith – Helping Hand

Edith

Edith is a Dietitian at our North Adelaide residential care home and has been working with us for the past five months. Edith has just recently completed her Bachelor of Medical Science and Masters in Nutrition and Dietetics at Flinders University.

Edith, Dietician

Having a hospitality background has helped Edith get to where she is today, part of her role is to review menus, alter menus to meet dietary requirements and preferences and talk with residents about their menus: ‘It’s good to engage with the residents and get their feedback’.

Edith has always been passionate about aged care and she knew that she liked it from placement she did as part of her study. The reason Edith wanted to work for Helping Hand is: ‘I came to visit Helping Hand North Adelaide on an open day, and I could see that management were really focused on providing the best care to residents. I thought it would be a great organisation to work for, and I wasn’t wrong”.

The favourite part of Edith’s job is talking to the residents. She also appreciates the team she works with: ‘they are like family, we all support and help each other’.

In Edith’s spare time she loves to read, attend salsa dance classes, and go for a run.
