17 May is IDAHOBIT 2023 – the International Day Against LGBTQIA+ Discrimination.

Whether you’re part of the LGTBQIA+ community or you’re an ally – it’s a day for all communities to stand up against discrimination.

The date of 17 May commemorates the anniversary the World Health Organisation removed homosexuality from the International Classification of Diseases in 1990. Prior to this, homosexuality was classified globally as a mental illness.
