Lealholme has a new bus!

After a huge fundraising effort (which was interrupted by the pandemic) Lealholme, our care home in Port Pirie, finally has a new commuter bus for residents!

Helping Hand CEO Chris Stewart, Lealholme staff and residents, as well as fundraisers and members of the local Port Pirie community, gathered on Friday 29 July 2022 to celebrate and launch the bus on its maiden voyage through the streets of Port Pirie.

Residents are very excited to have more opportunities to get out and about in Port Pirie and further afield with excursions and activities planned.

We’re grateful to the Lealholme fundraising committee, Port Pirie community, Freemasons SA & NT and Freemasons Port Pirie, for their generous donations that made the purchase of the bus possible.

A special thanks to Julie Stanwix – Lifestyle Coordinator at Lealholme – who was the heart and soul of this project. We couldn’t have done it without you!
