Golden Grove has become the first Helping Hand home to use MediMap, an electronic medication management software.
Nurses, doctors and pharmacists all interact with the client medication chart in real time from wherever they are, reducing waiting times, message sending and medication change delays. Streamlining medication management reduces risk, confusion, error and inefficiency, and improves collaboration between care teams.
Organisations using MediMap report up to 50 per cent less medication incidents. MediMap is in use at several aged care providers in South Australia and other Australian States and is a proven New Zealand innovation, where it has been taken up by at least three quarters of aged care providers.
MediMap will be piloted at Helping Hand Golden Grove and following review and evaluation has the potential to be introduced at all Helping Hand residential care homes.
