Grant received for project to improve palliative care – Helping Hand

Grant received for project to improve palliative care

Coinciding with National Palliative Care Week, (22-28 May 2022) we are pleased to be the recipient of a grant from the South Australian government Palliative Care Grants Program.

The funding will enable us to deliver Helping Hand’s Palliative Care Holistic Leaders Program. Through this program, 13 Registered Nurses will have the opportunity to participate in a fully funded 13-week postgraduate course – Professional Certificate in Palliative Care Nursing – with project partner University of South Australia.

This leadership group will share their learnings within their teams to strengthen our delivery of palliative care, and improve resident and family experiences. We will also create a new training tool which will be translated in to three languages other than English to further share learnings across the organisation.

We look forward to the course starting in September this year, and the learnings and improvements which will follow.
