The Lantern Festival, is a holiday celebrated in many Asian countries on the first full moon of the new lunar year, marking an end to Lunar New Year/Spring Festival activities. This year it falls on Sunday 5 February.
The Lantern Festival honours ancestors, and aims to promote reconciliation, peace, and forgiveness. In some regions, releasing lanterns into the sky or on waterways is considered a symbol of embracing an optimistic future.
If you are taking part in festivities, we hope you have a happy Lantern Festival!
