World Parkinson’s Awareness Day 2023
Tuesday 11 April is World Parkinson’s Awareness Day.
It’s an international day of recognition for Parkinson’s – a time to raise awareness of how the condition affects individuals and their families and to encourage further research into prevention and cure.
About 100,000 people live with Parkinson’s in Australia, with 80-90% of them aged over 50. While movement symptoms are the better known ones, Parkinson’s can also affect mental health, cognitive and bodily function, as well as pain and anxiety.
Find out more about Parkinson’s on the Parkinson’s SA website.
