eCase Home Care

Latest update: 6 November 2025

A major milestone has been reached, with the official launch of the eCase Home Care system on Saturday, 1 November 2025.

In the lead up to go-live, particularly in the last two weeks, significant work has gone into making this important step in Helping Hand’s digital transformation a success, including:

  • The completion of roadshow-style training sessions, led by James Bardsley, Executive Manager of Home Care and Retirement Living, and the Home Care Operations team. These sessions were delivered across all metro and regional Home Care offices, giving both frontline app users and back-office staff hands-on experience and confidence in using the new system.
  • Data migration, completed by ProcessX in partnership with 10 data engineers. This crucial work ensured all client information including budgets, contact details and other key records were accurately entered into the new system and ready for day one of go live.

Everyone involved should be proud of their contributions in reaching this milestone.

As with any system change, we acknowledge that the transition hasn’t been without its challenges. It’s normal to hit a few speed bumps along the way as we get used to a new system and new ways of working. We’re listening to your feedback, learning as we go, and working together to sort out any issues as quickly as possible.

The focus now shifts to embedding eCase Home Care into everyday operations, so it becomes a seamless part of how we deliver care in the community.

Support at Home Program

Latest update: 23 June 2025

The Australian Government has changed the start date for the new Support at Home program. It was planned to begin on 1 July 2025 but will now start on 1 November 2025.

The new Support at Home program will replace the current Home Care Packages (HCP) model. The Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) will remain unchanged at this time and will transition to Support at Home no earlier than 1 July 2027.

The new program aims to simplify access to a wider range of services for older people, enabling them to remain in their homes longer while maintaining health, activity, and community connection.

New Aged Care Act and Strengthened Standards

Latest update: 23 June 2025

The new Aged Care Act and Strengthened Standards will come into effect on 1 November 2025, following a delay announced by the Australian Government. They were originally set to start on 1 July 2025.

These important changes put the rights and needs of older people at the centre of the aged care system – delivering better support for individuals, their families and carers.

To help our clients understand these changes, we have created a guide featured in our April At Home magazine. This covers the Statement of Rights, the seven Strengthened Standards, and how Support at Home will affect both existing and new clients.

Please refer this resource when discussing these changes with the people you support.
