Arthur’s Café: a giving legacy at the heart of a community

Thanks to a generous Gift in his Will from the late Mr Arthur Horner, residents of Lealholme Residential Care Home in Port Pirie are enjoying a wonderful new café.

Arthur, who lived at Lealholme, left a gift to Helping Hand without specific instructions about how it should be used. We took great care to honour both his generosity and his connection to the place he called home. We spoke with people who knew Arthur, listened to residents and staff, and carefully considered how his gift could create the greatest and most enduring impact.
