Kate, Home Support Manager and Registered Nurse

Kate works as a Home Care Support Manager and Registered Nurse in Port Lincoln. Kate has been with Helping Hand for a few months, and has a great passion for aged care. ‘I came to Helping Hand looking for a change. Helping Hand is a large but supportive state-wide company, and it gives me the opportunity to make a difference in my community, to study and to grow in my career.’

Kate has organised for our Helping Hand Port Lincoln office to be a part of the local Red Cross Community Gardens Project, where local businesses create an edible garden out the front of their establishment for the general public, making food accessible to the people who need it.

‘I like Helping Hand as it gives me the opportunity to engage and spend time with clients as well as doing business type of tasks – that’s the positive of working in a dual role.’

Kate started off her aged care career with a traineeship in Aged Care, which resulted in a position as a Day Therapy Assistant. She then undertook further study to become a Registered Nurse and now is studying her Masters in Business.

‘I am very passionate about aged care, and love that everyone at Helping Hand is super friendly.’
